Vranov nad Dyjí is situated in the close proximity of
the Vranov Dam in the heart of Podyjí National Park.

In summer you can enjoy swimming in the Vranov Dam, which is at the same time a paradise for surfers and yachters. Fishermen adore the river under the dam, which is full of trout. In cooler months there are ideal conditions for hiking, as well as for bicycle trips to the famous Šobes Vineyard, on the marked cycloroutes through the Podyjí National Park and along Dyje River. Currently boat traffic was re-established, which offers sightseeing boat trips as far as Bítov Castle. Lovers of historical monuments will find in the environs a number of historical landmarks, which you should not miss.
In 1998 the family of Dvořák of Znojmo purchased it in a very dilapidated state. New owners completely reconstructed the hotel between 2000–2001, and gave it back its historical appearance whilst considering high criteria and standards of a modern, four-star hotel. The Chateau Hotel (Zámecký hotel) has again become after many years the dominant feature of the country-town below Vranov chateau. In the hotel you can find comfortable accommodation in 25 rooms with WC and shower. For the more demanding visitors there are luxurious suites with a bathroom with bathtub.
